We
are proud to announce that we officially have a full line up for We're
All Broken. After a year and a half of searching for a singer, we are
bursting to share what's been going on in just the past 2 months!!! In
April of this year, we were brought to the attention of a local (NJ)
singer songwriter named Joe Wilson. He has become what our band has
been missing since we went through losing our singer back in January of
'07. And the change does not stop there. We lost our drummer along the
way as well, but we are ecstatic to have our brilliant and attractive
buddy Casey playing drums with us. We started writing music together as
a unit in May and it has been amazing so far. We just posted a new song
called "Blacktop Cry." It is the first song we ever wrote together. We
wrote it on a Tuesday nite. It was our first 3 hours of saying hello to
one another, musically. And we are very excited to share it with you.
New pictures are up as well. Please check it all out on our myspace
page.
We were on what many of our friends called the longest
singer search in history. In all honesty, we went through 2 of the
darkest years of our lives and through it all, never gave up on this
band. In April of '07 we went through the horrible flood of our
rehearsal space which made itself an omen of things to come. It became
a metaphor for the next year of our lives… in two words: flood damage.
It
took months to clean after the flood and through it all we continued
writing on through the summer months, another summer home away from the
road, another season of mindless jobs… the ones which serve no purpose
other than to support our musical addiction. Then in September of '07
our drummer quit, uninspired to continue writing music without a
singer. Our drummer of over 10 years had left. But Jarett, Joe and
Frank did not have any vision of ending the band. We tried playing with
different drummers, continued to audition singers, continued to write
songs… all of this in the wake of watching our band seemingly disappear
as we stayed on what could be called nothing more than a ghost train.
This band had been a part of our lives for over 10 years. And we had to
deal with the reality and disappointment of watching the thing we love
and adore bleed all over the living room floor. It was the most
confusing time in our lives, and the only thing we knew to do was to
play through it. The only thing that kept us sane was playing music
together. Through all the dark and ultimately enlightening times that
came through the end of '07 and the early months of '08, we never let
up on the idea of reforming our band. All along, at every step… life
changed. And as it grew, we grew with it. Every step of the way,
writing music to mark our place. And somehow, we emerged more hopeful
than ever. Life is funny that way. We learned about the power of belief
in music and each other. And we came out of it as better people. But it
wasn't us alone, by no means. The people who continued to audition for
the singer position over the course of this year and a half despite all
our unending supply of bad luck … you became the lifeblood of this
band… without you we would have nothing. Which brings me to this most
important of points:
WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE EVERYONE WHO
TRIED OUT FOR OUR BAND. We were AMAZED BEYOND ANY PRIOR NOTION OF
AMAZEMENT at the demo submissions we received. People who auditioned
for this band, truly astounded us in every way possible. You guys and
girls became the only friend we had beyond each other telling us that
this was worth our time. Your efforts and time and creative energy and
vision and everything… always amazed us. You were our silent partner…
You reminded us at every step that music can connect with people, that
it is a real and valid element to life… that it is life. Never afraid
to bare your soul and sing your song.. over our music… it is an amazing
and humbling experience, and truly from the bottoms of our hearts … we
thank you. We could not have continued this band to any degree without
each and every one of you. Forever, our undying love will go out to
those who submitted demos and kept us believing in the power of music,
expression and true passion.
So here we stand today ready to
assume the duties of a full time band. We are more passionate and die
hard than ever… and we are ready to kill. This is still a very new and
exciting time for all of us and we learn more everyday by playing music
together, its been amazing so far. We officially began working on music
as a full unit in May '08. New material is being constructed every
week. And we will be playing shows starting in August and onward.
Thank
you to everyone who has ever supported our band. And to those who are
still there to listen… we love you. These songs are all our songs. More
and more and more to come, we promise you.
